Government Department Service Changes

Situation: A provincial ministry underwent significant changes in focus and wished to determine the mindset of its employees prior to implementing changes.
Method: All employees received a copy of the survey at their home. The data were analyzed by employee group, job classification, and other discerning employee characteristics.
Outcome: The report focused on perceptions of management and administrative changes, understanding ministry directions and reasons, contributors to employee satisfaction, assessments of human resource issues such as employment equity, and communications mechanisms. Strategic communications recommendations were provided to the client.
