Situation:

As a result of proposed legislation to amalgamate cities, a municipality planned to hold a plebiscite on whether residents favoured amalgamation.

Method:

IntelliPulse completed 1,200 telephone interviews with a disproportional random sample by ward. The data were weighted for citywide findings.

Outcome:
|
The city had a clearer understanding of community views on amalgamation and the perceived impact on residents, from property taxes to programs, and the client was able to ensure that priority services were protected after amalgamation.
